Chris was incredibly gracious and charitable to be involved in this project. He probably thought I just wanted some press from him. True dat. But also double true is that Chris has an incredible power to capture soundscapes and put them together in wacky awesome ways. For his response to my commentary, he literally took the first few seconds before I began to speak and stretched out the noise floor into this weird and aching song of whales on winds in slo-mo.
Since this was part of the internal rendering of the project, I didn't ask Chris to pick a time and place for listening. It was supposed to be just a preliminary step which led to giving the piece to the rest of the composers.
